| My daughter became severely depressed when she was fifteen, due mainly to four very sad events, including deaths of close friends, over the space of a year. It was also her NCEA year ...,so coupled with a perfectionist nature, and a very high IQ, she had a nervous breakdown. We spent the whole of term 3 that year trying to sort out what was happening to her. She was sleeping nearly all the time, and when awake, she was crying a lot, or sitting in a withdrawn fashion. |

| I have suffered from periods of stress and depression for the past 20 years. At one time I was treated with prescription drugs which left me feeling as if I had no control of my own behaviour. I was referred to a psychiatrist and prescribed Prozac at one stage also. |
